What the feature does:
Customers can connect Claude or ChatGPT to their Extenteam account in about 5 minutes, then ask questions about their operation in plain language, outside of our platform.
• Setup: paste one server URL (https://api.extenteam.com/mcp), sign in with their usual Extenteam login, click Approve.
• What they can ask about:
◦ Reservations: upcoming arrivals for a date range, and full details of a single reservation (incl. guest contact info)
◦ Guest conversations: messages per reservation (guest, agent, system and internal notes)
◦ Properties: property list, saved reply snippets, and policies extracted from their knowledge docs
• Built-in "Upcoming arrivals briefing" prompt: a brief per arrival covering returning-guest status, unresolved escalations, what the guest is asking about, and open questions or complaints
• Example prompt: Brief me on all guest arrivals for today and tomorrow. Flag anything that needs attention before check-in.
Guardrails (good to know if customers ask):
◦ Read-only for now: it can't message guests, change reservations or edit anything
◦ Only their company's data, tied to the user who approved it. If that user is deactivated, the connection stops
◦ Expires on its own after 30 days, or after 14 days unused. Every lookup is logged
◦ Any company user can connect (Company Manager or Employee). Extenteam staff accounts, or sessions logged in on a customer's behalf, can't approve a connection
Supported plans: Claude Free (1 custom connector), Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise · ChatGPT Plus/Pro (web, Developer mode), Business/Enterprise/Edu (admin must enable)
Why it matters:
Customers can get answers from their Extenteam data inside the AI tools they already use, without logging into the platform. This is the foundation, and we'll keep adding data areas and capabilities on top of it.
